Thank Goodness For Moms!

HOME SWEET HOME! There is just nothing better! So what makes home so great? Well...there are many reasons, friends, family, memories, the mountains. The list goes on and on and I will not bore you with that on here but I think the number one reason I love coming home gives credit to mom! How great it feels to be loved on always! Its so nice to take a break from the stresses of school, come home, and be loved on! Its just what the doctor ordered. Yet even when I am away at school mom still finds ways to work her magic. One day I was having an unusually happy day. EVERYTHING seemed to be going my way, every little thing from getting back several assignments with exceptionally good grades to more than one co-worker suddenly becoming available to work for me during the Thanksgiving Holiday, which is why I am home now. Well later that night I was sharing my happy day with mom only to find out that she was the source of it all! Mom had been sending me happy thoughts all day! The power of moms! The power of MY mom! She thinks that I surprised her for Thanksgiving, little does she know that without her happy thoughts I may not have been able to get the time off work at all. =D

Quiet evening? Or Dead Squirrel bloodbath!

So today, something happened. We were all (Taron, me, Vanessa, and roommates) enjoying a quiet evening sitting in the living room when we heard a knock at door. Nobody wanted to answer the door so the knock was followed by multiple "Come ins" Frustrated Holly, my roommate got up to answer the door. AND A DEAD SQUIRREL WAS CLIPPED TO OUR MAILBOX ON OUR DOOR!!! GROSS! Who would put a dead squirrel on our door? It made Vanessa feel popular...but it just makes me feel like there is some weird deranged person out there giving us dead gifts...WHO ARE YOU? Luckily we had a man with us. Taron saved the day! He quickly threw the squirrel for us in a nearby dumpster.

So...What do you want to do now?

In desperate attempt to entertain ourselves "cheaply" (other than the regular, dollar theater and three dollar Thursdays at the REX), Taron and I come up with projects such as puzzles, racing remote control cars, and baking. However our most recent projects from this past week have probably been our most creative. While
baking one day we discovered that brown sugar sticks together really well...which led to making "sand" castles out of brown sugar. It works surprisingly well! And last Wednesday Taron and I have been together four months which makes me officially his longest girlfriend. To celebrate we made a trophy. It consisted of some ugly wrestler woman super glued to cardboard and spray painted with metallic gold. Hahaha, makes me laugh every time I look at it! =)

Happy Halloween!!! =)

I thought that this Halloween was going to be kinda a bummer since I knew I would have to work all night. I worked at the restaurant for a few hours then went straight to campus operator and worked till one in the morning. Yet thanks to my two favorite people in the whole world my Halloween ended up being much more than just work! Vanessa and I miraculously found time in between jobs to dress up. We were Brent and Jamaine from Flight of the Conchords. (I know most of you probably don't know who they are but they are a band from New Zealand and crack me up! Vanessa and I are fans.) Taron got pizza's and rented Sweeney Todd from clean flicks and we all hung out in the office all night dressed up and everything, eating pizza and watching our scary movie! What would I do without those two!!! =)
